GIVE UKRAINE THE NECESSARY WEAPONS AND AMMUNITION, AND IT WILL STOP MOSCOW’S AGGRESSION IN EUROPE

There is a prevailing belief in the West that Russia cannot be defeated. This myth is the result of years of Kremlin propaganda and distorted, manipulative interpretations of historical facts. Since the time of Catherine the Great, who deliberately falsified history to serve the interests of the Russian Empire, these distortions have been imposed on public opinion and academic circles in Europe and North America.

Unfortunately, this stereotype has taken deep root in the Western consciousness. The elites of the free world uncritically accept the Kremlin’s narrative. Thus, among Western experts analyzing Russia’s aggression against Ukraine, naive voices still echo the manipulated and deceitful mantra that „Russia cannot be defeated.”

Russia exploits this myth to justify its actions in Ukraine and other countries, claiming that it can overcome any adversary. This may lead to further aggressive moves, including targets in Europe, as Russia’s leadership may feel emboldened by its perceived military dominance.

However, the reality is starkly different from the false theses promoted by Russian historical propaganda. The historical facts tell a completely different story…

UKRAINIANS AND THEIR ALLIES REPEATEDLY DEFEATED RUSSIA

For centuries, Ukrainians, along with their closest neighbors and allies – Poles, Lithuanians, and Crimean Tatars – have repeatedly triumphed over Russia on the battlefield. Before Ukraine, first voluntarily and later due to vile manipulations and subversive actions by the Kremlin, became part of the Moscow state, Moscow was a weak and backward political entity on the periphery of European civilization.

Ukrainians – the Zaporozhian Cossacks – both independently and in alliance with the Polish Crown, the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and the Crimean Khanate, achieved numerous victories over the Russians. They captured Moscow multiple times, and at the beginning of the 17th century, during the Time of Troubles (1605–1618), they even placed their protégés on the Moscow throne.

Many glorious victories over Moscow are inscribed in golden letters in the histories of Ukraine, Poland, Belarus, and Lithuania.

The Battle of Orsha, 1514. One such triumph was the famous Battle of Orsha, fought on September 8, 1514, during the Lithuanian-Muscovite War. The Ruthenian-Lithuanian-Polish forces, led by Hetman Prince Konstanty Ostrogski, who hailed from the Ukrainian city of Ostroh, defeated the Muscovite army.

The Battle of Klushino, 1610. One of the most glorious, yet unjustly overlooked, battles in European history was the Battle of Klushino, fought on July 4, 1610. Hetman Stanisław Żółkiewski, from Żółkiew (now located in Ukraine’s Lviv region), routed an army five times larger than his own. As a result of this victory, Prince Władysław IV Vasa was placed on the Moscow throne, and the people of Moscow swore allegiance to him on the Field of Maidens. However, soon after, the cunning and treacherous Muscovites turned against their ruler, betraying him and breaking their oaths. Interestingly, Hetman Żółkiewski’s right-hand man was the nobleman Michał Chmielnicki, of the Abdank coat of arms – the father of Bohdan Zinoviy Khmelnytsky, the future hetman of Ukraine. Unfortunately, the younger Khmelnytsky played a tragic and dishonorable role in the history of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, leading to a series of events that ultimately enabled Moscow to strengthen its position.

The Battle of Konotop, 1659. In Ukrainian historiography, the Battle of Konotop is considered one of the most glorious victories of the Ukrainian military. On July 8, 1659, during this famous battle, the Russians, led by Princes Alexei Trubetskoy and Semyon Pozharsky, suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of the combined Cossack-Tatar forces. Commanding these forces were Cossack Hetman Vyhovsky, the steward of Kyiv, Krzysztof Lasko, and the Crimean Khan Mehmed IV Giray.

When news of this defeat reached Moscow, the city was gripped by despair and panic. „The flower of Moscow’s cavalry, which had achieved fortunate victories in 1654 and 1655, perished in a single day, and the Muscovite tsar was never again able to field such a splendid army. In mourning attire, Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich went before the people, and fear gripped Moscow. (…) The tsar’s city trembled for its own safety. In August, by the monarch’s decree, people of all ranks performed earthworks to fortify Moscow. The tsar himself, along with the boyars, was often present at these works. Inhabitants from the surrounding areas, with their families and possessions, filled Moscow, and there were rumors that the monarch was departing beyond the Volga, beyond Yaroslavl,” wrote Sergey M. Solovyov, a historian and professor at Moscow University.

These are just a few of the many significant defeats suffered by Moscow, in which Ukrainian soldiers played a key role. These events demonstrate the crucial role Ukrainian warriors have played in shaping the region’s history and resisting Russian aggression.

WITHOUT UKRAINE, MOSCOW COULD NEVER HAVE BECOME AN EMPIRE

Until the mid-18th century, thanks to the determination of Ukrainians who, alongside Poles, Lithuanians, and Belarusians, defended themselves against the aggression of the barbarians from the east, the waves of Moscow’s expansionist ambitions broke against the walls of the mighty Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.

It was not until the late 18th century, when Moscow, through deceit and manipulation, seized control of what is now Ukraine, that it transformed into a powerful empire capable of influencing the fate of Europe and the world. With the loss of Ukraine, the once-powerful Commonwealth fell, and the shadow of barbaric Moscow loomed over Europe.

In the second half of the 20th century, Russia sought to dominate the entire Eurasian continent, aiming for global supremacy. Conflicts on the peripheries of Eurasia, such as those in Vietnam, Korea, and Afghanistan, demonstrate that, if not for the determination of the United States and its allies in the Atlantic and Pacific regions, Moscow could have achieved this goal. Had it succeeded in realizing this grim scenario, the world would look entirely different today.

After its defeat in the Cold War, Russia was forced to withdraw from Central and Eastern Europe. Nevertheless, this did not mean it had accepted its loss. For 30 years, Russia has been meticulously preparing for revenge. The dream of restoring its status as a superpower and the pursuit of global domination have made Central and Eastern Europe, particularly Poland and Ukraine, a priority for Russian strategists. The invasion of Ukraine proves that the Baltic states, Poland, and the entire European civilization are facing a serious threat.

THE HIDDEN WAR OF MOSCOW AGAINST THE WEST: IS THE WORLD AWARE OF IT?

To demoralize the West, Moscow is pouring billions of dollars into psychological warfare. It resorts to blackmail and intimidation to achieve its diplomatic goals and to go on the offensive again. It employs the strategy of Roman emperors who, in order to subjugate their opponents, did not push for military confrontation but instead sought to incapacitate them through propaganda and the instillation of fear.

„They are cowardly! They are afraid! They need to be taken by fear! With a whip!” thundered Vladimir Zhirinovsky, the Deputy Speaker of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, at the Euro-Atlantic civilization in Crimea in the summer of 2014. „And we will do propaganda that makes them afraid that tanks are moving toward Kyiv, that tanks could reach Brussels! We can occupy you and destroy you within a day! […] They should be afraid! Afraid every day! Every hour! We need a different foreign minister! We need a minister of propaganda! So that he can speak, and half of Europe will be afraid… Their knees should tremble,” he shouted hysterically, glancing at Putin.

Today, we are witnessing how Russian diplomats, lobbyists, and propagandists are trying to convince Western politicians and leaders to abandon military and economic support for Ukraine. In particular, it is undeniable that some lobbyists are influencing Donald Trump. At his campaign rallies, the Republican candidate often repeats distorted historical myths that favor the Kremlin. „Someone once told me that they defeated Hitler, they defeated Napoleon. That’s exactly what they are doing,” Trump repeats. However, it seems that Trump’s advisors overlooked the fact that Russia could only defeat Napoleon and Hitler with the support of Ukrainians fighting on its side.

During the Napoleonic Wars, all of Europe, all monarchies, united against Napoleon. It was quite different during World War I – even though the Entente states fought alongside Russia, it ultimately lost the war and collapsed, while its allies – the French and Anglo-Saxons – triumphed. This perfectly illustrates the internal weakness of the Russian colossus on clay feet. During World War II, Russia had strong allies in the anti-Hitler coalition. The United States, supplying Moscow with aid under Lend-Lease, played a crucial role in defending the USSR from defeat in 1941.

THE STRENGTH OF RUSSIA LIES IN THE INDECISION OF ITS ENEMIES

“Russian conquest is multifaceted and very flexible, utilizing many different methods and means. […] All of Russia’s victories have occurred not due to its strength, but due to the weakness and stupidity of its enemies,” describes well-known Ukrainian émigré Pavlo Shtepa in his book.

In turn, the prominent Polish Sovietologist and Promethean movement activist Włodzimierz Bączkowski argued that the West cannot effectively resist Moscow because it mistakenly considers it a European state, similar to itself. In reality, Russia is merely a superficially Europeanized Asian state, drawing its war strategy from Genghis Khan and the Chinese. The source of Moscow’s strength “is not the normal military force factor as understood in European terms, but a deep political action characterized by subversive, destabilizing, and propagandistic content.” Only when the conquered state is sufficiently weakened and unable to defend itself does the “triumphal march of the horde” occur, which, by slaughtering the defenseless, creates the impression of a raw, classical type of army.

In his works, Bączkowski cited the book “The Warsaw Operation” by the tsarist and then Soviet commander Boris Shaposhnikov, who claimed that it is essential, according to the Russian school, to “prepare” the enemy so that they can be taken “with bare hands” – “by throwing hats at them.”

After the collapse of the Soviet Union, Russian authorities remained faithful to the tsarist and Bolshevik traditions of warfare. This strategy continues to be pursued by Moscow to this day.

Traditionally, Russia achieves its goals not through military strength but through propaganda, ideological sabotage, subversive activities, and psychological and informational operations. It adopted these methods from the khans of the Golden Horde, who dominated its territory for centuries, creating conditions for Moscow’s dominance in the northeastern areas of the former Rus. The Kremlin has mastered the methods of hidden informational and psychological warfare, with the most crucial element being the instillation of fear. “When Batu Khan was about to invade Hungary, he made an offering to demons, asking if he would dare to enter there. A demon residing in a statue answered him: 'Go calmly, for I send three spirits before you, and thanks to them, your opponents will be unable to resist you. These spirits are: Discord, Disbelief, Fear.’” The main weapons of Russia are discord, disbelief, and fear, which it sows among its opponents.

DISCORD, DISBELIEF, AND FEAR PARALYZE THE WEST BEFORE THE AGGRESSION OF THE „AXIS OF EVIL”

Fear of escalation has led the United States to provide Ukraine with support only to the extent that it prevents the Russians from breaking through the front lines. However, this is insufficient to defeat the aggressor. Journalists from The Atlantic noted that the American approach to aiding Kyiv is gradually exhausting Ukraine and its citizens. Meanwhile, Financial Times, analyzing the Biden administration’s policy, emphasized that “if Washington had provided the right amount of weapons at the beginning of the war, it could have ended in a Ukrainian victory, and, more importantly from the perspective of U.S. interests – a defeat for Russia. Meanwhile, the Biden administration opted for a scenario of endless war, without presenting any active diplomatic program for a negotiated end to the conflict.”

On the other hand, U.S. vice-presidential candidate J.D. Vance presented a so-called „peace plan,” which, in practice, involves abandoning Ukraine and granting Russia a huge geopolitical victory. This plan resembles an unconditional capitulation by the U.S. to Russian aggression. In December 2017, the Russian Foreign Ministry issued an ultimatum to the United States and NATO, presenting the same demands that the vice-presidential candidate is now proposing to fulfill. Vance’s vision recalls the greatest unilateral betrayal of an ally since the Munich Agreement of 1938, when Great Britain and France left Czechoslovakia at the mercy of Nazi Germany.

EUROPE AND THE WORLD FACE A DRAMATIC CHOICE

Provide Ukraine with the necessary weapons and ammunition, and it will stop Moscow’s aggression against Europe! Ukraine has the capability to achieve victory, but to do so, the collective West must supply it with all the essential weapons and ammunition. Without Ukraine, Russia cannot become a force capable of expansion and takeover of Europe. Without Ukraine, Moscow will not create conditions under which its allies in Beijing and Tehran could pose a serious challenge to the West in the Indo-Pacific region and the Middle East. Without control over Ukraine, the emerging “axis of evil” countries will not be able to destroy the world order known as Pax Americana. Moreover, without Ukraine, the Kremlin will not be able to fulfill Genghis Khan’s testament, which foretold the creation of a Eurasian empire from ocean to ocean.

Under no circumstances should one succumb to blackmail and intimidation from Russia. Such diplomacy is mortally dangerous. Moscow understands only the language of strength. It can only be defeated through a comprehensive and holistic strategy that should include isolation, decisive military action, increased pressure through sanctions, and intensified destructive socio-economic actions aimed at exhausting Kremlin resources. Democratic countries should strengthen their alliances by implementing appropriate security measures and supporting those who are directly threatened by Russian aggression.

Furthermore, under no circumstances should Russian war criminals be legitimized through negotiations. The willingness to compromise and concede is perceived by the Kremlin as weakness, which “invites” it to expand its aggression. It is crucial for the international community to make it clear that every act of aggression will be met with an immediate and decisive response. The Russian bear must be put on a chain.

Putin behaves like Hitler in the years leading up to World War II. Let us recall the words of Winston Churchill, spoken in the House of Commons when European countries made the Munich Agreement with Hitler in 1938: “You had a choice between war and disgrace. You chose disgrace; now you will get war.” And he was right. Less than a year later, Hitler invaded Poland, and Great Britain had to declare war on Germany. Thus began World War II…

Now Europe and the world face the same dramatic choice…
