In the face of Putin’s aggressive expansion, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump repeats the manipulative phrase of Russian propaganda like a mantra, claiming that Russia is supposedly invincible because it once defeated Hitler and Napoleon. Furthermore, during a debate with Kamala Harris, Trump did not answer directly when asked if he cared about Ukraine’s victory. Instead, he stated that his priority is to end the war and added that Russia possesses a massive nuclear arsenal.

In this way, Trump seeks to justify his intention to sacrifice the interests of Ukraine, the United States, and the entire collective West in order to strike a shameful deal with the leader of an oppressive and aggressive empire of evil.

Trump claims that any agreement with Putin would be acceptable and that he is ready to shake the bloody hand of a war criminal who has destroyed the existing international order, undermined the UN Charter, and international law, while constantly asserting that he is waging war against the entire collective West, led by the United States.

„What will happen if they [the Russians] win? That’s what they’re doing—they’re fighting. Someone once told me that they defeated Hitler, they defeated Napoleon. That’s what they’re doing,” Trump stated.

However, it seems that Trump and his advisors have overlooked the fact that Russia defeated Napoleon and Hitler with the support of Ukrainians fighting on its side. Moreover, during the Napoleonic Wars, all of Europe—every European monarchy—stood by Russia. During World War II, Russia had strong allies in the anti-Hitler coalition, and the United States provided Moscow with aid through the Lend-Lease program, which saved the USSR from defeat in 1941.

History shows that when Ukraine was part of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth, it served as the strongest bastion of Europe on the border with the barbaric world. At that time, Russia was a poorly developed country on the periphery of Europe. It was only when, at the end of the 18th century, it finally seized the territory of present-day Ukraine that it became a powerful empire influencing the fate of Europe and the world. After losing Ukraine, the once mighty Commonwealth fell, and the shadow of barbaric Moscow loomed over Europe. For 200 years, Russia ruled Central and Eastern Europe using the principle of divide and conquer, primarily inciting ethnic hatred—especially between Poles and Ukrainians. This was true after the partitions of Poland, after the defeat of Napoleonic France, during World War II, and later.

In other words, the truth is that Russia defeated Napoleon and Hitler only because Ukrainians fought on its side.

Immediately after World War II, the Kremlin devised a plan to seize all of Europe. The Stalinists hoped to soon wash their boots in the waters of the Atlantic. However, NATO, led by the United States, did not allow Moscow to conquer defenseless post-war Europe.

In the second half of the 20th century, Russia aimed to gain control over the entire Eurasian continent, pushing towards global dominance. Conflicts on the periphery of Eurasia (Vietnam, Korea, Afghanistan) demonstrate that if not for the efforts of the United States and its allies in the Atlantic and Pacific regions, Moscow might have achieved this goal. If it had managed to realize such a grim scenario, the world would be entirely different.

After its defeat in the Cold War, Russia was forced to withdraw from Central and Eastern Europe. However, this did not mean that it was ready to accept defeat. For 25 years, it prepared for revenge. The dream of resurrecting a superpower and global dominance made Central and Eastern Europe, particularly Poland and Ukraine, the focal point for Russian strategists. The invasion of Ukraine indicates that the Baltic states, Poland, and even the entire European civilization face a serious threat.

If Russia succeeds in occupying Ukraine, it would transform it into a springboard for further expansion westward, using it against the eastern flank countries of NATO. The goal of Putin, as announced by the Russian Foreign Ministry in the ultimatum directed at the United States and NATO on December 17, 2021, is the revival of Stalin’s sphere of influence in Europe. If Putin could take control of Ukraine, he would certainly mobilize millions of Ukrainians and direct all resources of this vast European country towards achieving his aggressive expansionist ambitions.

The Kremlin fiercely hates America, which after World War II prevented the Stalinists from conquering all of Europe, became the locomotive of NATO, and remains the guarantor of freedom and sovereignty for European nations. This is precisely why the Russians passionately support anti-American sentiments around the globe.

John Bolton, former National Security Advisor to ex-President Donald Trump, sharply criticized the 45th president for his statement regarding a quick end to the war in Ukraine in an interview with CNN. He stated that the United States is helping Kyiv „not out of kindness or charitable activity.”

„We help Ukraine because at the core of American national security interests lies the defense against unprovoked aggression on the European continent and the effort to establish peace and stability there, which brings us countless benefits. We are talking about hard American interests that neither Donald Trump nor J.D. Vance seem to understand,” Bolton said.

The defeat of Ukraine would be a devastating blow to the entire Euro-Atlantic community, which could lead to the downfall of NATO and the entire Western bloc. The realization of such a scenario would inevitably result in Russian aggression against Europe and the withdrawal of the United States from the global stage. Under no circumstances can the West allow such a development.

If Putin is not severely punished for the heinous crimes against humanity committed in Chechnya, Georgia, Syria, and Ukraine, other dictators will interpret such impunity as an invitation to use brutal violence. This could lead to conflicts in various parts of the world and ultimately result in the outbreak of World War III.

Ukraine must win. The Putin regime must suffer a humiliating and crushing defeat. Its failure should serve as an example to all dictators and war criminals who dream of destroying the existing international order based on respect for human rights and state sovereignty. When the Kremlin loses, the threat of a global war may be neutralized for many years.

Thus, the ongoing war in Ukraine is—without the slightest exaggeration—a war for the future of humanity. It is a conflict between freedom and slavery, democracy and despotism, truth and lies, between light and darkness. China is closely watching this war. Today, the fate of the world is being decided in Ukraine.

For the safety of America, Europe, and the world, it is crucial that Trump and his team acknowledge this undeniable fact.
